Corporate Volunteering at PAWS

24th November 2019

At any one time, PAWS can be housing and caring for upto 120 dogs and puppies in our shelter and foster carers. These are all looked after by our small but strong and dedicated team of staff. We have only about 4 staff on every day so, as you can imagine, it can be hard to keep on top of everything past the basic day to day care of the dogs. We appreciate any or all the help we can get. We always appreciate the array of people that come to volunteer for the day, the students who choose to spend their work experience weeks with us, or the people who spend their afternoons walking the PAWS dogs with a special shout out to the Walk A Dog group of volunteers who come every weekend to walk dogs, rain or shine for the past couple of years.

However, some of the biggest and best improvements have been made at PAWS when we have had large groups of volunteers lending their valuable time to us. New dog runs have been built and old ones mended, old doors and fencing get repaired and painted, runs get weeded and cleared and every dog in PAWS gets a long walk and some individual attention. These are things we can really struggle to get done without the extra help teams of volunteers bring with them. Volunteering at PAWS for corporate groups also provides great team building practice opportunities for companies. Employees can come and work directly with the PAWS for full or half days and regular days for short or long term periods can also be arranged.

There is always so much to be done from cleaning and scrubbing kennels, walking the dogs and giving them a little extra socialising and individual time, weeding and trimming back to clean up the dogs runs, building projects, painting projects etc. so please get in touch if you would be interested in taking part in corporate volunteering. We appreciate all the help we can get so get your workmates involved and help make a huge difference!
