2022 in review

by | Dec 29, 2022 | Kennel Diaries, Updates

As 2022 comes to a close, we have been looking back at the madness and mayhem, the happy and the sad, the achievements and the near misses.
We had a visit from the lovely team from RTE’s Nationwide programme in January, which gave us some much-needed exposure on Irish TV. This year we also celebrated 25 years in rescue. Something to be proud of and we are 🙂
From the heavy rain early in the year and the long heatwave this summer, each brought it’s own set of challenges, but our team pulled together, as always, and we got through it.
The lovely people at Redmills Pet Food in Kilkenny, continued to sponsor our dog nuts, which is a massive lifeline to our ongoing work.
In August, we were sailing very close to the edge. Rising vets bills, low income and an endless flow of unfortunate souls appearing daily at our gates. We asked for your help, and you amazed us with your kindness and generosity. We turned that corner and kept going. Thanks to YOU. We try not to shake the begging bowl too often as your timelines are full of charities looking for help. So, when we do, it is serious. Thank you for responding each time.
To everyone who donates, sponsors a kennel, sets up a monthly, standing order, does a birthday fundraiser, runs a marathon, climbs a mountain, shares our posts to spread the word, gives us moral support and kind words, we thank you.
Thank YOU for being there. Gina Xx
