Hardest to rehome – Bob the saluki Lurcher

23rd January 2022

Allow us to introduce Bob, a very special boy in need of a very special home to call his own. Bob is a one year old, tripod, saluki lurcher. When Bob was found, he was in a very bad way. He had been left to fend for himself for quite some time and had a very badly injured back leg. He was in poor condition and a sorry state.

Luckily for Bob, some local builders working in the area saw he was straying and started to leave food out for the little lurcher. They began to gain his trust. They were then eventually able to catch him with the help of PAWS using a makeshift dog trapping crate. He was brought straight to PAWS and rushed to the vets for treatment and care. No doubt the builders looking out for him saved his life hence the name, Bob the Builder!

Sadly, Bob had to have his leg amputated and lots of TLC to bring him back to good health. It doesn’t slow him down though. He is starting to go like a rocket thinking he still has four legs.

It’s because of this, we wanted to shine the spotlight on this sweet boy to give him the best chances of finding a forever home. Three legged dogs don’t always have the best luck finding a home because of their disability even though it doesn’t make them any less of a loving pet. This is especially true in Bob’s case. He is very sweet natured and has a loving personality that is starting to shine through the stronger he gets. He is terrific with other dogs but will need some help gaining more confidence.

Three legged dogs can make a fantastic family pet. The PAWS crew will go through everything a potential home will need to know for Bob but truthfully they do not require much more care than your average four legged dog!
