Hardest to Rehome – Bobby

26th June 2021

Allow us to introduce you to someone very special, Bobby the rottweiler. Bobby is 8 years old and was surrendered to PAWS in February of this year when his family could no longer care for him.

Lots of things make Bobby a very special and distinctive dog. His sweet, waggy disposition, his love of a cuddle and a play with his teddies, in fact all toys in general, despite being a slightly older gentlemen. The fact that he loves absolutely everyone that comes to visit his kennel, his handsome good looks and the medical condition he sadly has, pannus. Pannus is a degenerative eye condition which will mean that Bobby will eventually go completely blind. Despite this, Bobby’s pannus does not bother him, he can see quite well and needs two doses of eye drops daily. It doesn’t stop him living a very lovely, enriching life but we would like to find him a suitable home that will be able to provide him with the time and understanding in later years when he can no longer see.

As well as his pannus, Bobby is also a kind of breed that can often be misunderstood and take longer to find their forever home when they end up in shelters. This makes it all the more important to find him the right home as soon as we can. The right family for Bobby will have some experience with dogs with poor eye sight or similar medical needs, patience and understanding and experience with larger breeds like rotties. Bobby is playful, loyal and an absolute gent but we feel, due to his size, he would be better suited to a home with no children under 15 years old. In return for this, we can guarantee you will have a friend for life, full of love and play. This is the Bobby guarantee!
